a single pearl

a single pearl

when the foe of your countenance
struts about like a swollen young peafowl,
and the lips of your heart
bellow up the fires of its abiding hell,

a single pearl lodged firmly
in the door of the mouth
shall prove faithful.

{one gate of heaven
closing in on
a body of flesh}
