SINCE IT’S A COAL MINE
I will give You every inch of my life
if You’ll mine my heart
I will give You every inch of my life
for a brand new start
and since it’s a coal mine
darkness & danger reside
and since it’s a coal mine
light must be brought in from outside
I will give You every inch of my life
if You’ll mine my heart
I will give You every inch of my life
for a brand new start
and since it’s a coal mine
perhaps You could burn down all my pride
and since it’s a coal mine
perhaps there are diamonds hidden inside
break
it is a dark, dusty hollow
and I’ve not made room enough - I know
(repeat many x’s)
I will give You every inch of my life
if You’ll mine my heart
I will give You every inch of my life
for a brand new start
and since it’s a coal mine
what a friendless place it is to abide
and since it’s a coal mine
perhaps You could be my mountainside
I will give You every inch of my life
if You’ll mine my heart
I will give You every inch of my life
for a brand new start
and since it’s a coal mine
darkness & danger reside
and since it’s a coal mine
light must be brought in from outside
I will give You every inch of my life
if You’ll mine my heart
I will give You every inch of my life
for a brand new start
and since it’s a coal mine
perhaps You could burn down all my pride
and since it’s a coal mine
perhaps there are diamonds hidden inside

Man, that is great....I think that the repeating lines are good...it highlights the main focus of the piece...the subtle changes feel like a mental process with which the individual has come to resolve the state of his/her situation....first, to bring something from outside into us and contain it within the situation, secondly to be changed within/through the situation, finally, a realization that neither of these will succeed unless the situation is placed into something much larger than itself.....our help not making itself small enough for us to contain, but being big enough to be where our condition/state/situation resides....I think it's perfect. I also, really like the new picture version. It definitely is a step above. It's a bit more identifiable....and I really like the addition of the person's silhouette. I think that it illustrates the concept of the album. Love it, bro!!!
ReplyDeleteonce again, i thank you for your encouragement, it's very affirming to get your stamp. you've got one fine stamp josh swartwood! about the picture: is more identifiable a good direction? and do you honestly like the silhouette? shoot straight. ~ d.
ReplyDeleteyeah, I think more identifiable is a good thing....especially for album artwork, plus the silhouette is a nice subtle touch.
